Here's a list of known bugs and problems: * Export to Excel 95 will only work for german or english versions of Excel 95. The export to Excel 97 and Excel 2000 will work for all versions. * TreeSize Pro requires V4.70 or higher of COMCTL32.DLL. This version is available from Microsoft since October 1996 and is required by nearly every modern software. Since it is installed on approximately 98% of all PCs, we decided not to include it with TreeSize Professional any more, because this reduces the download size by 430kb. For the case that you receive an error message concerning COMCTL32.DLL or the images on the toolbar are missing, please download Microsoft's update of COMCTL32.DLL (430kb) from: http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/ie401/patch/comcontrol/en/401comupd.exe * TreeSize Professional does not yet handle the file based compression of the Windows NT file system NTFS, so the values reported for allocated space may be wrong if you use the file based compression of NTFS. This problem is now fixed. * Under Windows 2000 the previous versions scanned mounted volumes (new feature of NTFS5) as normal folder, which produced wrong results. * The problem that TreeSize Pro tried to scan the FTP connections of WS FTP Pro is now fixed too. * To fix the above problems, we have completely rewritten the scan routine. As a result, scanning is now about 20% faster and needs about 70% less memory. * A problem with corrupt toolbar images under Windows 98 with certain video drivers has been fixed. * When a chart was printed, the summary values of the root folder were printed in the header instead of the values of the selected folder. Version 2.3: Released on 24 Feb 2000 * It's now easier to check several files in the search window by selecting mutliple files with the Shift or Ctrl key and then using the context menu. * You can now chose to move the checked files in the file search window to the recycle bin, to delete them from harddisk or to move them to a given folder. This allows you to easily archive or zip these files. The directory structure is preserved when moving! * You can tell the Oldest file search to return only folders in which *all* files have not been accessed/changed since a certain date. This allows you to identify larger unused parts of a file system than only individual files. * New charting engine: a better look and a smaller download size (an additional DLL is not required any more) * The free space on a drive is included in the pie chart if a drive is selected on the left pane and the "Allocated Space" mode is active. * New command line option: /CHART saves the current chart. * New command line option: /NOGUI hides the TreeSize Pro window when scanning the background. * New command line option: /SEARCH:Internet will search for temporary internet files, delete all found files and terminate the application. * New command line feature: /EXPAND xxMB will expand all branches larger than xx MB * The File Search is faster with large results. * A minor problem under Windows 2000 has been fixed. * A problem with column reordering in the Details view has been fixed. Version 2.2: Released on April 24 1999 * The search for temporary internet files now works better with IE3 * /PRINT option did not work correctly with mutiple drives on command line * Information about drive is now included in saved Excel and Text reports. * A bug fixed which caused a small difference between displayed allocated space and the really allocated space. The results are more accurate now. * Deleting files or folders did sometimes delete the folder on disk, but not in the TreeSize Pro window. This is fixed now * Some icons were not correct * Some minor bug fixes and improvements Version 2.1: Released on August 30 1998 * Added search for temporary internet files * Improved searching for temporary files * The free space of the drives in the search options is now displayed * The command line option /Search:Start starts a file search * The toolbar now has a 'Stop scanning' button and 'Remove folder' button * You can now enter a path directly into the drive combo box * The combo box also lists the recently scanned folders * You can adjust the length of the list of recently scanned folders/drives in the options dialog * When using the /SAVE command line option, TreeSize Professional was not terminated after saving. This is corrected now. * If you use a command line option, which automatically saves the scanned data, the date can be added to the specified file name. * Problem fixed: Changing the sort option always switched the view to details mode * Problem fixed: Changing the view type (size, allocated, wasted, ...), when no folder was in the left pane caused an error. * Some minor improvements and bug fixes Version 2.0 (final release): Released on May 30 1998 Version 1.0 : Released on May 28 1997
